Qualified as a Royal Marines Physical Training Instructor in 1964 after completing overseas commando service. His sporting achievements earned him the RM 'Sportsman of the Year' award in 1977. He later reached Judo Fourth Dan (Black belt) and British National Coach status and represented his country several times. He was also a sub three-hour marathon runner.

In 1977 he was selected for a two year secondment to the US Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia, where he was responsible for the physical training programmes for over 10,000 officer candidates. His 'outstanding contribution' was recognised in 1980 by a White House Commendation. He was subsequently appointed Assistant Inspector of PT, Royal Marines, from 1980 to 1984 and was awarded an MBE for his services in 1981.

Peter studied successfully at Loughborough University for the Diploma in Recreation Management (Distinction) and then for the Higher National Diploma in Business Studies (Distinction). He is also a fully qualified ACSM Fitness Director. A Fellow of the British Association for Physical Training, he was awarded the associations' Gold Medal in 1989 for 'outstanding service'.

In 1987 Peter was selected to become a Churchill Fellow, providing the opportunity to study the principles of success of leading health and fitness programmes in the USA and building a network of leading professionals which is still maintained. He has also been awarded Fellowship of the International Association for Workplace Health Promotion and in 1994 was awarded the AWHP International Award for Business & Industry for outstanding facilities and programmes.

Peter was responsible for the design and ongoing management of the fitness centre for the £14m Riverside Club in West London for over 4 years, before leaving to develop his consultancy and management business in 1991. Subsequently he has designed and managed a further 16 quality fitness centres for such major companies as British Gas, Securicor and McKinsey & Co. One of his most successful projects has been the fitness centre for The Harbour Club, near Chelsea Harbour, one of the most prestigious and successful sports and fitness clubs in London.

Each new fitness centre is personally planned and overseen by Peter to ensure the highest possible quality and ongoing success. Currently, Peter is pioneering a unique 'Wellness Coaching' concept. He is frequently called upon to share his unique and innovative concepts at both national and international conferences and is regarded as one of the UK's leading professionals in his field.
